Creative Filmmaker & producer of my own work
Hello, I am Emily Bradley. I am 22 years old. My birthday is the 26th September. I am trying to be as well-rounded as possible with my work. I am from the north east, more specifically from Newton Aycliffe. I go to the University of Cumbria in Carlisle. I am in my third year of studying film and television. I grew up in a creative household in Newton Aycliffe. I was bound to be a creative person! I want to eventually be a part of an innovative film community, creating content and films. I specifically want to make documentaries and music videos. As a child, I wanted to be a doctor or a teacher, but as I grew up, I wanted to go into something creative. I have a dog that I've had since I was 12 years old and he is turning 12 on the 28th of May. He is a Bischon Frise.

My work experience:
Theatre:
The Majestic Theatre
When I worked here, I helped out as a props hand. To go more in-depth, I got any props that they needed. This could be wands, swords, squirt guns, etc., ready; I also helped them with rehearsals where I could. This means that if they needed more water, I grabbed them more. I got them any costume pieces they needed at the last minute for performance time. Skills this work helped me with are:
-
communication
-
teamwork
Communication:
This taught me that if you do not communicate Important information as soon as possible right then and there, the whole production or performance could come crashing down when it's live or has an audience.
Teamwork:
This taught me that in this line of work if you don't have people to work with, you will not be able to do any work, as it's very team-oriented work. You need different people for different tasks to ensure efficiency in how you complete them.
national careers service:
Event: When I helped out with the National Careers Service, I helped them with an Event they were doing in Durham. What I have done to help was file the line through, and whenever there was a gap at the entrance stall where you signed in, I let them know so they could go over and sign in. This helped with the filing system as some people wouldn't notice an empty spot and hold up the line. I went to have lunch with my brother in Nandos. However, when I returned from Nandos with my brother, the line was out the door to get into the event. Once I noticed the line, I said bye to my brother and ran back in to help get the line filtered through. The skills this Event gave me are Time ManagementCommunicationTeamworkTime Management: This Event helped with my time management as it showed me just how much management you need in not only the line of work I'm going to go in but in any line of work especially if you are going to do an event like the event I helped out with. Communication: I learned that communication is vital for events like this. If you don't communicate when there are busy spots in events, everything will crumble. Teamwork: This is vital for anything, but especially for events. The entire event will crumble if you try to do it alone or with a bad team. If you have a good team for an event, you can have an amazing event that will not crumble and crack.

Carlisle bonfire night 2023:

I have had the amazing opportunity of working on audio for the 2023 bonfire night in Carlisle that was held in Bits Park. The team that I worked with was a part of the audio section, and we all gathered the audio equipment and props to record the sounds for the bonfire night. I found this work very inciteful as I've never worked on audio really and to be able to see how it worked was interesting. This gave me the skills of basic audio recording, communication, and teamwork. Working as a team is important, especially when you work in an industry such as sound or filmmaking. I think that my teamwork is improving the more that I work in a team on my pieces.

Programming team lead for film festival

This festival is apart of the graduation year and I have been leading the programming team and working very closely too the marketing team to get film freeway up and running. we all have been getting out exhibition sorted as well as working as a team to get the festival sorted. As a team lead I've had to ensure everyone is where they need to be and making sure they all have something to do to ensure that we progress.
